CVHS Community Projects

We are a very active society with many projects and activities on the go. From Litternot to community plantings, we are always busy!  Click on any project name below to see more information and pictures

Litternot Mississauga: C.V.H.S. has adopted the Sawmill Valley Trail, located at Erin Mills Parkway and Burnhamthorpe. Organized by super-member Sue, three times a year, volunteer members walk the trail, have a giggle and admire the beauty surrounding them, while collecting the trash along the trail with equipment provided by the City of Mississauga.

Springbank Meadows Park: With the support and assistance from the TD Canada Trust Friends of the Environment Foundation and the City of Mississauga Recreation and Parks Dept., C.V.H.S. has been naturalizing Springbank Meadows Park, which is a former landfill site. Every September, volunteer members, their friends and familes, plus neighbours from the area, gather to plant hundreds of native plants, trees, and shrubs on this former landfill site.

Credit Valley Hospital Gardens:  Liz & Ron, two of our members, have been taking care of the hospital Paediatric and Courtyard (former Oncology) gardens since 1999. The Paediatric Garden was shown on the Mississauga, Communities in Bloom schedule for a few years. In 2008, the City of Mississauga placed “First” in their population category.
